Report 13th FAO/WHO joint meeting on pesticide management: 20–21 October 2020, virtual meeting

Overview

The 13th FAO/WHO Joint Meeting on Pesticide Management, jointly hosted by FAO and WHO, was held online via Zoom on the afternoons of 20 and 21 October 2020. The meeting included a review and update on activities of FAO, WHO and UNEP on pesticide management; a review of progress in the production of new FAO/WHO guidance and revision of existing guidelines; presentation of the draft Global action plan for highly hazardous pesticides for discussion and feedback; presentations and exchanges on emerging priority issues such as illegal trade of pesticides and online Internet pesticide sales; and other issues relevant to the International Code of Conduct on Pesticide Management. The participants of the meeting included members of the FAO and WHO panels of experts, invited observers (representatives of UNEP, OECD, industry, and international NGOs), and members of the FAO and WHO Secretariats.
