Overview
Nearly a quarter of all deaths globally can be attributed to environmental impacts on health. In South-East Asia 3.8 Million lives that could be saved by addressing environmental risks in people’s homes, workplaces and communities through taking action on air pollution, inadequate water and sanitation, chemical exposures, radiation, community noise, occupational risks, agricultural practices, the built environment and climate change.
Children are among the most vulnerable and in 2015 it is estimated that 5.9 million children died before the age of 5 years under the age. Quarter of these lives could have been saved by simple targeted interventions to reduce environmental risks
