- Make sure children eat nutritious food at home and school, such as green and orange vegetables, milk, meat, poultry, fish, beans, nuts, whole grains and fruit
- Show them how to wash and stay clean with soap and water
- Show children how to brush their teeth well at least twice a day
- Make sure children have adequate sleep
- Send children for any health checks that are available at school
- Encourage children to be open and talk about feelings with people they trust
